Abstract
The theme of the article is the dcscriplion of the tvvo diliering conceptions of the rationality and identity of the vvorld, thought and reality represented on the one hand in systém theories and on the other in phcnomenologically orientated sociology. System theories desenbe processes of modernization in contemporary society as matlers of the assertion and applicalon of systemic rationality, while phenonienology is mainly interested in the rationality of every laj action and of natural attitudes in the Lebenswelt. A thorough thinking through of the problen of Lebenswelt leads to Ihe retům of questions of the meaning of human action, and the continuity of the development of communitics and solidarities, iraditions etc. Without such an approach. it is impossible lo understand social reality even in an environmenl where systemic rationalir. is being aggressively applied.
